Incomplete cleavage is when the cells don't completely separate into blastomeres.
Explanation:
Also known as meroblastic cleavage, this happens when either the cleavage furrows don't penetrate the yolk (discoidal cleavage) or when cytokinesis does not happen (superficial cleavage) and the embryo is a blastodisc sitting on top of the yolk, which is still intact.
