Vertex is at $(0,1)$ and axis of symmetry is $x=0$

$f(x)= x^2+1 or y=(x-0)^2+1$ . Comparing with the

equation of parabola in vertex form is $y=a(x-h)^2+k ; (h,k)$

being vertex , we find here $h=0, k=1$ . So vertex is at $(0,1)$ .

Axis of symmetry is $x=h or x=0$
