Explanation:
This branch of chemistry studies the relationship between electrical energy, which is certainly quantifiable, and chemical change, which is also a macroscopic phenomenon. An older professor of mine used to tell his students that all chemists should be electrochemists because all you had to do was measure voltage and current. Alas, I did not take his advice.
