What is the domain and range of f(x) =sqrt(8.5 − 3 x)?

Here,
The function f(x) is only defined when 8.5-3x >= 0

SO,

-3x >= -8.5

Multiplying both sides with - .

or, 3x <= 8.5

or, x <= 8.5/3

So domain of F(x) is x <= 8.5/3

Now since you can only put value x <= 8.5/3 and when you put the maximum value i.e. 8.5/3 , you get 0 which means the lesser values you add the more you will get.

So the range of F(x) is f(x) >= 0.
