Well, we want the equation in terms of yy first so we can do that by subtracting both sides by xx

y+xcolor(red)(-x)=0color(red)(-x)y+xx=0x

y=-xy=x

This is simply a line that crosses the origin and is decreasing.

If we recall, y=mx+by=mx+b, mm is the slope of the line which is the coefficient (or number) in front of the variable.

From our equation, the slope, mm is -11

Note: -xx is the same as saying -1x1x
