Vertex of $y=7x^2-2x-12$ is $(1/7,-85/7)$

$y= 7x^2-2x-12$

$=7(x^2-2/7x)-12$

$=7(x^2-2xx1/7xx x +(1/7)^2)-1/7-12$

$=7(x-1/7)^2-85/7$

Now the equation is in vertex form $y=a(x-h)^2+k$ , whose vertex is $(h,k)$
