One method which comes to my mind is shifting the axes in one of the curves so that the axes collide with that of the other and then compare.
Explanation:
Suppose we use the transformation U = (X - a)/c and V = (Y - b) /k, where (a,b) is the origin of one of the curves . This is done provided the axes are parallel. If the axes are not parallel then the transformation is a little complicated.
