Explanation:

Addition of matrices takes place position by position, so we need to solve the additions involving the variables. (My compulsiveness also made me check the other addiitions, but I won't type it here.)

So we need to solve the system

4+(x-y) = 34+(x−y)=3
4+x=(2x+y)4+x=(2x+y)

I get x=3/2x=32 and y = 5/2y=52
