m=5 and y-intercept =b=1

Explanation:

y=5x+1 is the equation of a specific straight line.

The equation of any line is y=mx+b

All I did was to compare y=mx+b and y=5x+1

You can clearly see that m=5 and b=1

This is the easiest way to do this example but there is another way, when you don't know what the general equation of a straight line looks like.
All you have to do is to plug two values for x and find y or vice-versa, find the slope with m=y2y1x2x1 then graph the line and check where it touches the y-axis (that is your b)

Let me know if you have any question or would like to see what I just wrote :)

Hope this helps :)
