Why are the arteries present deep in the body?

Arteries carry blood from the heart to different parts of the body.
Here our heart has to send the blood at a high pressure to make sure the blood reaches everywhere sufficiently.
so the arteries have blood travelling at high pressure which in turn is exerted on its walls. so the arteries is stored deep in body so that they do not break. they also have to thick walls as compared to veins.
