We all need water to survive. We usually get this from sources like lakes and rivers, which come from rain and snow. If the water cycle didn't work for some reason, all the water would eventually end up in the ocean, where we can't drink it because it's too salty. Also, the food we eat needs water to grow, and that would cause the same problem.
