If h(x) = x-7 and g(x) = x^2h(x)=x7andg(x)=x2, what is (g*h)(5)(gh)(5)?

1 Answer

Because the domain of h and g is the set of real numbers their product can be defined.

Hence

h(x)*g(x)=(h*g)(x)=(x-7)*x^2h(x)g(x)=(hg)(x)=(x7)x2

Hence

(h*g)(5)=(5-7)*5^2=-50(hg)(5)=(57)52=50
