Cross multiply:

Now that we know the total amount of laps we can subtract this from the amount she has already completed.

She has #40# more laps to complete her workout.
She still has another #40# laps of the pool to do.
#50%# is the same as #1/2#
If she has completed #50%# of her workout #(1/2)#, then there is the same amount still left to do, (The other #50%#)
This means she still has another #40# laps of the pool to do.
