If a cell is soaked in a hypertonic solution, will it swell or shrink?

The cell will shrink.

Explanation:

The cell will shrink, if soaked in a hypertonic solution. It is due to the exoosmosis.

It will shrink.

Explanation:

A hypertonic solution is one in which there is more solute and less water than an isotonic or hypotonic solution.

When a cell is placed into a hypertonic solution, water will diffuse out of the cell and into the hypertonic solution by the process of osmosis in an attempt to become isotonic with the solution in which it is soaking. Under these conditions the cell will shrink due to the loss of water.
