time taken = 79 seconds.

Explanation:

The train is moving with a constant velocity . And it should travel a bridge of 1km in length which is equal to 1000m and the train itself is 100m .

So the total distance to be covered is 1000+100m= 1100m= 1.1km

with the velocity 50km/h.

A relation relating time taken, distance covered and the uniform velocity is given by,

v=St

where ,

v is the velocity,

S is the displacement (here it is total distance covered ),

and t is the time taken .

REARRANGING THE TERMS :

t=Sv

t=1.1km50kmh

t=0.022h( 0.022 hours will be taken to cross the bridge)

Time in terms of seconds :

1 hour = 3600 seconds.

0.022 x 1 hour= 0.022 x 3600 seconds .

0.022 hours= 79.2 seconds .

So it will take 79 seconds to cross the bridge
