A vector whose direction is opposite to a reference vector is called as it's negative .

Let's imagine a coordinate axes x and y . A vector vec A which is along the positive x direction. If another vector vec B which is parallel to vec A (and has same length) but is in the opposite direction is called a negative vector .

A null has zero magnitude. It has no defined direction.
