$3 n - (4 n + 2) > 8 = n < - 10$ $3n-(4n+2)>8=n<-10$

$3 n - (4 n + 2) > 8$ $3n-(4n+2)>8$

Remove the brackets first:

$3 n - 4 n - 2 > 8$ $3n-4n-2>8$

Move the n's to one side of the equation and the numbers to the other (change them from positive to negative or vice-versa when you do so):

$3 n - 4 n > 8 + 2$ $3n-4n>8+2$

$- n > 10$ $-n>10$

Don't forget to change the sign when you multiply by a negative number:
