Geography played a big role in Mesopotamian civilization.

The most important feature in all ancient civilizations were the rivers. because it allowed these civilizations to use water for farming, drinking, fishing, and trading. Mesopotamia has two major rivers flowing through it, the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. The mountains to the east of Mesopotamia played a big part in creating these rivers, but also put a natural barrier between Mesopotamia and other civilizations.
