A disorder in which blood doesn't clot normally.

Explanation:

If you have hemophilia, you will bleed more than others when you have a injury. This bleeding can damage organs and can be life-threatening.

What are the chances of me getting this?

You cannot "contract" this disorder. It is a inherited disease, which means, it is passed down from generation to generation. In the US, there are fewer than 200,000 reported cases every year.

What are the symptoms?

Symptoms include,

  • many large or deep bruises
  • joint pain and swelling
  • unexplained bleeding
  • blood in urine or stool

This disorder does not target a specific age group. But, people whose ages are 41+ have a less chance of this disorder.

Males are typically diagnosed with this disease with a greater chance than females.
