Pressure of air molecules

Explanation:

At sea level, water boils at 100 C while at the top of a mountain water will boil less than 100 C. This is due from the fact that there are fewer air molecules at higher elevations so there is less pressure on the surface of the liquid. Less pressure, molecules in the liquid can escape easier and therefore, you will boil the liquid at a lower temperature
