In broad terms you want to give generalized questions that are not to difficult to answer. Public opinion polls can be redundant, but they are extremely effective when put towards research.
Some examples would be:
"Do you believe our government is heading in the right direction?"
"What would you change to make education better?"
"Is Socratic useful? or is Socratic useful?
