alpha helices and beta pleated sheets are the secondary structure of polypeptides. Each occurs as a result of various arrangements of hydrogen bonds between the residues contained therein.

To be sure, alpha helices are twisted and beta pleated sheets are two sheets of the polypeptide chain from it bending once at the top and interacting.
