Explanation:
An experiment I did in middle school was weighing the amount of baking soda and vinegar I had before mixing the two, and weighing the amount of product I had left over (making sure to trap the carbon dioxide in a balloon) after the reaction took place.
Of course, the mass didn't come out exactly the same because of errors, but it was pretty darn close.
You can do this with ANY chemical reaction if you make sure to capture all of the product and this is just one example.
