Reproduction may be classified into two major types as Asexual and sexual apart from other types. In asexual reproduction the organism simply multiplies as in fission or multiplication as in yeasts. In sexual reproduction it is the result of different types of cells called gametes unit and form the zygote and the embryo develops from this fertilization. The gametes may be similar or dissimilar and even phenotypically the organisms may be different from one another. All major vertebrates show sexual reproduction only.
