You can find the midpoint of two points by adding their respective abscissas (x coordinate) and ordinates (y coordinate) and dividing these values by 2.

To find the x coordinate of the midpoint, add the first x coordinate (which we will call `x_1`) and the second x coordinate (`x_2`) together; then divide it by 2.

`x_1` is 4 and `x_2` is -6. The x coordinate or the abscissa of the midpoint is thus:

`(4+(-6))/2=-1`

We can do the same with y or the ordinate:

`y_1` is 3 and `y_2` is 6, so

`(3+6)/2=4.5`

So the midpoint of `(4, 3)` and `(-6, 6)` is `(-1, 4.5)`.
