Explanation:
Animals procreate by fertilisation of an eggcell ( Ovum , from the mother-to-be) by a spermcell (from the father-to be).
Both eggcell and spermcell carry a single set of chromosomes.
This means that, after fertilisation, the cell has a double set of chromosomes. No matter how many or few chromosomes are in each set, double that and you will always get an even number.....
