Water will move from the plant cell, into the surrounding environment.

Explanation:

Water potential can be described as the tendency to take in/up water. Water potential is always negative, with the exception of distilled water which has a water potential of 0.

Every other solution on earth contains solutes, which will lower the water potential, making it negative.

Osmosis is the net movement of water molecules from and area of high water potential to an area of low water potential across a selectively permeable membrane.

Through this definiton, you can see that water always moves from an area of high water potential to an area of lower water potential which is the reason for the answer. (Osmosis is also the way in which water leaves or enters the cell.)

Hope this helps!
