Warming and cooling of water

Explanation:

Below the Earth's crust lies really hot magma. This warms the crust, meaning that water deep in the ocean is getting warmed up. Warm up is less dense than cold water, so the warm water from the bottom rises to the top. This displaces the cooler water on top, causing the cool water to fall down to the bottom. Consequentially, this col water is warmed up and rises. This process causes the circulation of water, leading to deep water currents.
