How can I find the amount of solute in a solution if only the volume of solution is given ?

You would need both the volume and the concentration. The formula #C=n/v# is relevant: the concentration in #molL^-1# is the number of moles divided by the number of litres. If you have any two of these you can find the third using this formula.
