How does transformers work?
So my teacher is really bad at explaining, so can some one tell me how transformers work, maybe a bit simplified but anything is appriciated.

There is an alternating input voltage going in primary coil, this produces an alternating current in the primary coil which causes a changing magnetic field in the iron core
(The reason why the core is made of iron is because iron is easy to magnetise and easy to demagnetise )
The changing magnetic field in the iron core induces and e.m.f (a voltage) in the secondary coil
Transformers which have more coils on secondary than primary are called Step Up Transformers becasue they step up the voltage
Transformers which have more coils on primary than secondary are called Step Down Transformers because they step down the voltage
