The Island of Hope and Tears

Explanation:

Ellis Island was where an estimated 12 million immigrants were processed and inspected. The island was called The Island of Hope and Tears, not by just Italians but many others. The reasoning behind it is because that was where many peoples dreams came true and also where many were destroyed.

When they came to America, they were seeking a better life and some of those immigrants found it with new experiences and opportunities. However many couldn't. Families were sometimes broken when some people were allowed in and others weren't. For that reason it was called The Island of Hopes and Tears.
