$g f (x) = 11$ $gf(x)=11$

$f (x) = 2 x - 4 and g (x) = 3 x + 5$ $f(x)=2x-4 and g(x)=3x+5$

To find $g f (3)$ $gf(3)$ means to put the value of $x = 3$ $x=3$ into $f (x)$ $f(x)$ and then put the result into $g (x)$ $g(x)$

$f (x) = 2 x - 4$ $f(x)=2x-4$ when $x = 3 \Rightarrow f (3) = 2 \times 3 - 4 = 2$ $x=3 => f(3)=2xx3-4=2$

So $f (3) = 2$ $f(3)=2$ now put $x = 2$ $x=2$ into $g (x)$ $g(x)$

$g (2) = 3 \times 2 + 5 = 11$ $g(2)=3xx2+5=11$
