That is (f(1)+g(1) From the above table for x = 1 , check along the row and read the values given for f(x) and g(x)
x=1→f(x)=7 and g(x)=1
⇒(f+g)(1)=7+1=8
(b) Similarly
(f×g)(−1) This time we want the product of the functions when x = - 1 From the table for x = - 1 , check along the row and read the values.
x=−1→f(x)=3 and g(x)=−2
⇒(f×g)(−1)=3×−2=−6
(c) again similar to above
x=3→f(x)=9 and g(x)=9
⇒(f−g)(3)=9−9=0
(d) x=0→f(x)=5 and g(x)=0
⇒(fg)(0)=50 which is undefined
