The water displaced must have a mass of 9.25-8.2=1.05g

Explanation:

This has a volume of 1.05cm^3
(density is 0.998 at 20^o C)

So the density of the metal is:
rho(m)=m/V=9.25/1.05~~8.8g//cm^3

The mass of the displaced gasoline was 9.25-8.36=0.84g
rho(g)=m/V=0.84/1.05~~0.80g//cm^3

(everything rounded to 2 SF because of the 8.2)
