here we can see two rectangles:

the small one of dimensions 100"ft" and 50"ft"

the big one of dimensions [100+(2*5)]"ft" and [50+(2*5)]"ft" formed considering also the walk.

Subtracting the area of the small one from the area of the big one we should get the area of the walk.

A=[100+(2*5)xx50+(2*5)]-[100xx50]=6600-5000=1600"ft"^2
