N + 81 > 3N Subtract N from both sides giving
N- N + 81 > 3N - N This results in

81 > 2N Divide both sides by 2

81/2 > 2N/2 ( since dividing the > by a positive does not change the direction of the sign it remains > ) This results in

40.5 > N or

N < 40.5
