How do we name alkenes?

They end with -ene.

Explanation:

Alkene are hydrocarbons that have the chemical formula of #C_nH_(2n)#.

Their notation is simply ending with -ene.

Sometimes, we have to a letter "a" after the prefix for the number of carbon atoms if they are more than one carbon-carbon double bonds.

Examples include:

Ethylene #(C_2H_4)#

Propene #(C_3H_6)#

Butene #(C_4H_8)#
