How do you factor 6x^2+7x-49?

You can factor this by getting its roots, as follows (I'll use Bhaskara)

(-7+-sqrt(49-4(6)(-49)))/12
(-7+-35)/12
x_1=-7/2, which can be equaled to zero as the factor: 2x+7=0
x_2=7/3, which can be equaled to zero as the factor: 3x-7=0

Thus

6x^2+7x-49=(2x+7)(3x-7)
