We need two numbers the sum of which $=-11$ and their product $=10$

You can factor 10 in several ways:
$10=1*10or =2*5$
But also:
$10= (-1)* (-10)or=(-2)*(-5)$

You will see that only $(-1)+(-10)=-11$

Result:
$=(n-1)(n-10)$
