vertex form of parabola is given as, $y=a(x-h)^2 +k$ where, $(h,k)$ is the coordinate of vertex

Now givn equation is $y=x^2 +2x-3=x^2+2x+1-4=(x+1)^2-4=(x-(-1))^2+(-4)$

So,coordinate of vertex is $(-1,-4)$
