This is a trick that is really worth committing to memory

General case: ${log}_{a} (x) = \frac{{log}_{b} (x)}{{log}_{b} (a)}$ $" "log_a(x) =log_b(x)/log_b(a)$

So $y = {log}_{4} (x - 7) + 9$ $y=log_4(x-7)+9$ is the same as:

$y = \frac{{log}_{10} (x - 7)}{{log}_{10} (4)} + 9$ $y=log_10(x-7)/log_10(4)+9$
