the excluded values are : $r=-2" and "r=+3$

Given: $" "(r+6)/(r^2-r-6)$

The denominator can be factorised giving

$" "(r+6)/((r+2)(r-3))$

The excluded values will be when the denominator equals zero

Set $" "(r+2)(r-3)=0$

So the excluded values are : $r=-2" and "r=+3$
