the excluded values are : r=-2" and "r=+3

Explanation:

Given:" "(r+6)/(r^2-r-6)

The denominator can be factorised giving

" "(r+6)/((r+2)(r-3))

The excluded values will be when the denominator equals zero

Set " "(r+2)(r-3)=0

So the excluded values are : r=-2" and "r=+3

In higher mathematics these are called asymptotes.

excluded values -> asymptotes

Graph of :" "(r+6)/(r^2-r-6)
