General Solution is $x = 2 n π$ $x=2npi$ , where $n$ $n$ is an integer.

$cos x = 3 cos x - 2$ $cosx=3cosx-2$ is nothing but $2 = 2 cos x$ $2=2cosx$ or

$cos x = 1$ $cosx=1$

But $cos x = 1$ $cosx=1$ is only when $x = 0$ $x=0$ and as in a general solution we can add or subtract multiples of $2 π$ $2pi$
