$x=25/2$

$log x+log 8=2$

$log8x=2$

$log_10 8x=2$

$8x=10^2$

$8x=100$

$x=100/8$

$x=25/2$

Recall that if it just says $log$ , it means $log_10$
and the log law: $log a+ log b=logab$
