$x=6$

$2x-y=2$ --- (1)
$-3x+y=-8$ --- (2)

From (1),
$2x-y=2$
$y=2x-2$ --- (3)

Sub (3) into (2)
$-3x+(2x-2)=-8$
$-3x+2x-2=-8$
$-x-2=-8$
$x=6$ --- (4)

Sub (4) into (3)
$y=2x-2$
$y=2(6)-2$
$y=10$
