The solution for the system of equations is :
x =19/14

y=-6/7

Explanation:

color(blue)(2x) +9y=-5......equation (1)

color(blue)(2x)-5y=7............equation (2)

Solving by elimination
Subtracting equation 2 from 1

cancelcolor(blue)(2x) +9y=-5

-cancelcolor(blue)(2x)+5y=-7

14y=-12

y=-12/14

y=-6/7

Finding x from equation 1
2x +9y=-5

2x +9 xx (-6/7)=-5

2x -54/7=-5

2x =-5 +54/7

2x =-35/7 +54/7

2x =19/7

x =19/(7xx2)

x =19/14
