The solution for the system of equations is :
$x =19/14$

$y=-6/7$

Solving by elimination
Subtracting equation $2$ from $1$

$cancelcolor(blue)(2x) +9y=-5$

$-cancelcolor(blue)(2x)+5y=-7$

$14y=-12$

$y=-12/14$

$y=-6/7$

Finding $x$ from equation $1$
$2x +9y=-5$

$2x +9 xx (-6/7)=-5$

$2x -54/7=-5$

$2x =-5 +54/7$

$2x =-35/7 +54/7$

$2x =19/7$

$x =19/(7xx2)$

$x =19/14$
