The solution for the system of equations is

$x - y = - 6$ $x-y=-6$ , multiplying this equation by $3$ $3$
$3 x - 3 y = - 18$ $color(blue)(3x)-3y=-18$ .......equation $(1)$ $(1)$

$3 x + 2 y = 12$ $color(blue)(3x) +2y=12$ ..............equation $(2)$ $(2)$

Solving by elimination.

Subtracting equation $2$ $2$ from $1$ $1$ :

$cancelcolor(blue)(3x)-3y=-18$
$cancel(-color(blue)(3x)) -2y=-12$

$-5y=-30$

$y=30/5$

Finding $x$ by substituting $y$ in equation $1$

$x-y=-6$

$x=-6 +y$
