(x + 3)/((x + 1)(x- 1)) - (2x(x + 1))/((x + 1)(x - 1)) = (x^2 -1)/((x +1)(x- 1))
x + 3 - (2x^2 + 2x) = x^2 - 1
x + 3 - 2x^2 - 2x = x^2 - 1
0 = 3x^2 + x - 4
0 = 3x^2 - 3x + 4x - 4
0 = 3x(x -1) + 4(x - 1)
0 = (3x + 4)(x - 1)
x = -4/3 and 1
