How does the mass of an object affect moment of inertia?

Mass of a body always resists the motion. Meaning like you are in a bus and if the driver applies brake the bus stops and you move forward. Here, the bus suddenly acted a force on you in the backward direction but your body trying to resist the force moved forward. This is related with first law of Newton. SO in simple you can say that the mass trying to resist a force affects the moment of inertia.
