There are two types of carbon in terms of stable isotopes

There are three forms of carbon on basis of allotropy.

Explanation:

1) The first (stable) carbon isotope is carbon-12 with a mass number of 1212 units {it has 66 neutrons}

The second (stable) carbon isotope is carbon-13 with a mass number of 1313 units {it has 77 neutrons}.

2) There are three allotropes of carbon

  1. Graphite
  2. Diamond
  3. Buckminster fullerene
